Watch 3D videos on your iPhone or iPod Touch without glasses using i3G

i3DG is a playful analog extension to an iPhone, converting its 2D display into a layered 3D view. Using the very old technique of placing a halfsilvered mirror at a 45-degree angle in front of an image, in a novel new context, the project serves as a timely critique of the popular memes of 3D displays and iPhones. As a gadget peripheral, i3DG can support a wide range of different applications, ranging from simple 3D videos and animations to accelerometer based games.  - http://i3dg.mobi/

Nokia C6 Hands-on and Impressions

I had a chance to get my hands-on the Nokia C6 recently which was released last July 2010 in the Philippines with a suggested retail price of 15,000 pesos. It is Nokia’s new touchscreen phone with a slide-out keyboard and could be compared to the Nokia N97 mini but cheaper. It has a 3.2 resistive touch-screen display (360x640), 5-megapixel camera with LED flash + front-facing camera, ARM 11 434 Mhz processor, all powered by the Symbian OS v9.4.

As always, the build quality of the C6 is top-notch. Sliding out the keyboard was seamless. The physical QWERTY keyboard had good tactile feel and enough finger space to provide a comfortable typing experience. The display conveniently slides out straight (not tilted like n97) so typing could be a little easier.  I just wished they’d made the touchscreen capacitive instead of resistive. I was quite please with the overall construction and hardware components of this phone for the price.

With regards to the software running this thing. I think Nokia should really consider releasing Android or Windows models for their Symbian ones. I mean, not totally dump Symbian like what Samsung and Sony-Ericsson did, but provide choice to users and see what they want. The Symbian OS 5 does not make the cut in terms of user-interface, features and the most important factor. Apps.

Nevertheless, this current Symbian version running on the C6 seems to be doing the job. There is some lag here and there but if this is your first touch-screen phone, then this should be good. If you have used an iPod Touch or iPhone before then you’d have to lower your expectations in terms of smoothness and screen response time.

TwelveSouth BackPack Review - Apple iMac

Apple (or its partners) surely know how to milk every new hardware release with a bunch of cool accessories and add-ons and that includes the Apple’s desktop entry. I don’t know any other desktop that you can buy accessories for besides the iMac. But don’t be jealous PC users! Why accessorize when upgrading your rig is a LOT easier and cheaper than the iMac. But that didn’t stop me from grabbing one to retro-fit my iMac’s behind. :)

BackPack is a sturdy, sleek looking shelf designed exclusively for your iMac. This handy little piece of heavy gauge steel is perfectly sized to hold backup hard drives, USB peripherals or even a charging iPod. It also is a great place to display office toys and gadgets on a forward facing iMac. You can use BackPack's perforated base to tie up loose cables and connectors creating the clutter-free zen-like workspace your iMac was designed for. – TwelveSouth BackPack
