Buckyballs are now banned and sold out

buckyballs

These balls are fun to play with. Yes, Seriously. You should get one.

Buckyballs are no longer being sold by it's maker at Getbuckyballs.com. In a firesale, or what they called Buckypocalypse, they sold every last stock of Buckyballs and Buckycubes to heed the US Consumer Product and Safety Commission (CPSC) ban on neodymium magnets due to numerous reports of children swallowing the tiny “rare-earth” magnets and being clogged on their intestines. Swallowing a single piece might not be deadly but swallowing a couple might as they’ll stick together and even pierce intestinal linings (ouch!)

"It is hard to understand why CPSC is trying to pry our balls from the hands of adult users, effectively putting us out of business. We have launched this video in the hope that consumers will speak up and tell the CPSC that these adult-marketed, adult-focused products, when used correctly are perfectly safe."

I managed to get a couple last time and have ordered the last of the Buckycubes. Though these stuff is banned in the US, I’m pretty sure you can still get one off our local shelves here or Zen Magnets, if ever they escape CPSC.
