Rumors are floating around that Samsung will be announcing a recall of the just-launched Galaxy Note 7. This is a reaction to reports on some devices exploding while being charged and likely caused by faulty batteries.
"Products installed with the problematic battery account for less than 0.1 percent of the entire volume sold. The problem can be simply resolved by changing the battery, but we'll come up with convincing measures for our consumers," said the official. - via Yonhap News Agency
If this is indeed final, I wonder how Samsung Philippines and telecom operators like Globe and Smart would facilitate the wide recall. Fortunately, this phone is just new in the local market - nevertheless people who got theirs early and paid a large amount would not be happy with news.
Two lessons here probably?
Removable battery is better and being an early adopter sucks.
