Zune Firmware Update 1.3 this March

Zune Insider Blog cited 3 significant updates on the 1.3 firmware update coming on March 13 (tentative)

  • We’re fixing the skipping problem that some users were experiencing – that is, content acquired from Zune Marketplace will no longer skip when played on the device.
  • Improved device and software reliability, when it comes to device detection, and improved sync'ing.
  • We’ve made some changes to the FM Tuner so it no longer drains the battery when in sleep mode.

I've read in other zune sites that some Zune users requested a podcast feature, and even a clock to be included in the update. Those 2 are pointless anyways, as you would not keep checking your Zune for the time. You have a watch or cellphone for that. As for podcast support, well, we already have FeedyourZune, or we can download the podcasts manually and transfer it manually. At least we have a WAY of doing that.

What I want to see is a good, solid PC integration making Zune a legit storage device....The hard drive patch available does make file transferring frustrating. I myself haven't tried it out. I can see the innards of my Zune on Windows Explorer but can't upload/download the stuff directly! If the iPod can do that..why can't you, Zune?
